Local Weekly Run Workouts

Hi Sharks, this is the second post reminding everyone of the free local group training (check out my bike ride post) opportunities. Some people run solo year round but it can be refreshing to push yourself to keep pace with a faster group or to slow it down and be social. Times are subject to seasonal variation, and I'll try to keep them up as possible. I'm only including activities that are local, open, and free to Tri Shark club members:

Group Running:

Monday Evening Run & Walk @ Tipton - This a weekly Fleet Feet group activity. Starts at 6pm. Routes from 2-5 miles, all paces are welcome. Fluids are provided, and a volunteer will remain at the parking lot to watch your stuff. Please wear reflective clothing.

Tuesday Run @ Sugar Grove - leaves at 5:30pm. Located in Funks Grove (directions) just south of Bloomington. Trail running (5 miles) or road running (4 or 7 miles). Snacks and water are provided, and runners are encouraged to bring other beverages.

*cancelled* Wednesday Night Track Workouts @ IWU - The Lake Run Club has held weekly track workouts for a long time but this year Nigel's work schedule has this one on the ropes. Anyone who wants to volunteer as leader should contact the LRC!

Wednesday EveningTrail Running @ Comlara - leaves at 6pm. Shady Hollow Trail Runners will be hosting a weekly run on trails around Lake Evergreen. Trailheads may change from week to week. Check the SHTRS Facebook page for specifics.

Thursday Evening @ Lake Bloomington - leaves at 5:30pm. Sponsored by the LRC, meets at Green Gables. Most run inner loop (4.37), but some will do outer (7.44). Others may improvise and run a 5k or less. All paces welcome. Stay for burger after if you can....or not. Run at lake until time changes in fall.

Thursday Evening @ Often Running - leaves at 6pm. Co-sponsored by Often Running and LRC. Some nights are easy endurance pace, others are intervals.

Friday Night Ladies Run @ Fleet Feet - leaves at 6pm on the THIRD Friday of every month. Followed by a BYOB social at the store. Check the Facebook group for more info. Please wear reflective clothing.

(Friday) Monthly Morning Run & Walk @ Fleet Feet - Leaves at 6AM on the SECOND Friday of every month. All paces welcome, coffee after the run.

Saturday Morning Run @ Coffeehouse in Uptown Normal - leaves at 7:30am. Paved trail running, longer distance with the LRC Marathon Training Group.

Sunday Morning Run @ Coffeehouse in Uptown Normal - leaves at 8am. Paved trail running, longer distance with the LRC Marathon Training Group.
