Tuesday Night Time Trials (TNTT)

Tuesday night time trials are held April through October near Evergreen Lake North of Bloomington-Normal. In a time trial event riders start from slowest to fastest with time between each rider. Our TNTTs are not sanctioned races, but they are timed training events.

TNTT Rules and Guidelines

We need to impress on people the importance of safety at the TT course. Here are a couple of rules to remember:

  • When racing, please stay to the right side of the lane close to the road line and never ever ride in the on-coming lane -- at any time.
  • Pass only when safe to do so and traffic is clear. Again, this is not a closed course and two riders side by side can be dangerous with cars on the road.
  • Before and after the TT, please stay off the roads on the grass shoulders. 20+ riders stopped in an intersection do not help motorist’s views of cyclists.
  • Again, in a battle between a car and bicycle, the bicycle always loses. Please remember these rules. We do not want to ban repeat offenders and stop the TT or even worse have anyone injured.

Daylight permitting there is often a 40K option.  The 40K start is about 1/4 mile from the 20K start then two loops of the 20K.
